Gore Verbinski to Direct Walter Mitty Remake

Just one day after the world got their first look at director Gore Verbinski's animated Rango, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" helmer is already set for what may be his next movie, a remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye vehicle The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for 20th Century Fox.

Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger Poster's

These aren't the most exciting posters, but as a growing Woody Allen fan, I can't help but feature them, especially because this is my true first look at his new film titled You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

Click the posters bellow to enlarge:

What About a Street Legal Tron Lightcycle?!?

The good folks at Parker Brothers Choppers have a dream, to make you so damn super cool that people will literally foam in their pants just for the chance to make eye contact with you.

Why wouldn't they, as you pull up in your custom Lightcycle all Troned out, looking mighty spiffy and ready to party? It's virtually impossible not to want to rip your clothes off. Hell, I don't even know you and I already want to have your baby.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Trailer

Warner Bros has unveiled the first official trailer for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part I, the first half of the epic conclusion to the beloved Harry Potter series. Let me be the first to say that this looks absolutely phenomenal, like these might be the best two movies in the series

Serkis to Star as Caesar in Planet of the Apes!

Great news for anyone who love British actor Andy Serkis. Or for anyone looking forward to Fox's Planet of the Apes prequel Rise of the Apes. Fox just launched an official Twitter feed today with a bit of news: "Gollum reteams with Weta. Andy Serkis to star as Caesar in Rise of the Apes, portraying chimp who leads the simian revolt." Serkis has already "played" another ape before - King Kong in Peter Jackson's remake from 2005. As we know, Weta is creating all of the apes digitally, but it's great to hear they've got someone talented behind the very vital role of Caesar. James Franco stars in the movie and Rupert Wyatt is directing.

First Look at Rango Poster + Teaser

Paramount is developing a new animated CGI film titled Rango with Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski set to direct. In addition to Verbinski, Johnny Depp is on board to provide the voice of the lead character, described as "a household pet that goes on an adventure to discover its true self." The film is scheduled for March 2011. The script for Rango was written by John Logan and is based on an idea from Verbinski. While Verbinski.

Alice Eve Cast as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class

Alice Eve / Emma Frost

Heat Vision and Deadline report that Alice Eve, last seen as the hottie in She's Out of My League, has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's X-Men: First Class, which is being directed by Matthew Vaughn. Eve will play Emma Frost, the "White Queen" who eventually became a member of the X-Men and was seen briefly in some of the earlier X-Men movies (in Wolverine as played by Tahyna Tozzi).

Incetion Featurette – Meet the Characters of Incetion

Warner Bros.. has released a new featurette for Christopher Nolan’s Inception that focuses on the characters in the movie.  Since we’re so close to July 16, I’m actually not going to watch the featurette as I already know more than I want to.  Also, I believe anyone that has seen a trailer or TV spot for Inception is interested in the movie, and once you know you’re going to see it, why keep watching more footage from what might be one of the best films of the year.  What I’m trying to say is…this is one of those movies the less you know the better.  But for those that have to see everything…hit the jump:

Disney Converting Lion King to 3D

Disney is definitely on their way to becoming the top studio again. There are hundreds of projects they're working on, but two of them get some time in the spotlight today. Empire caught up with Disney producer Don Hahn, who directed the great Waking Sleeping Beauty documentary and is working on Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, and talked about a few different projects at Disney, since he still is working on other things besides telling the inside story of Disney. They're starting work on a 3D conversion of The Lion King as well.

First Look: Conan

Jason Momoa as Conan the Barbarian
The first official photo of actor Jason Momoa ("Baywatch", "North Shore", "Stargate: Atlantis") as the legendary Conan the Barbarian in Marcus Nispel's Conan has been found on the site for Nu Boyana Film Studios (via ScreenRant). It's not much, it's actually even less than the Thor first look. It's pretty much just a shot of a buffed up Jason Momoa with some epicly long hair and that's about it; you can barely make out the stairs behind him, but I want to see more from this first! The good news is that it looks like this guy has almost as much muscle as Arnold did in his movie. So check it out then speak your mind!

First Look: Transformers 3

Just Jared has a first look two photos of Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Tyrese Gibson shooting Transformers 3 last Thursday. The site has a spoilerish description of the scene that was being shot which you can check after the jump, if you don't mind knowing story details ahead of time...

Shyamalan Reunites with Bruce Willis?

M. Night Shyamalan has completed a script for a new film and already has some stars lined up, reports Heat Vision:
"No details are known about the project, but it comes with some major acting talent: We've learned that Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis are loosely attached to star in the film.

Shyamalan is famously secretive, and this project is no exception: Only top studio execs have read the script, and they were required to allow a Shyamalan assistant to supervise the process. When the execs finished reading, the assistant took the script back and left."
Outside of a "loosely attached" cast that includes Bruce Willis, Bradley Cooper and Gwyneth Paltrow, almost nothing is known about the project.

We will keep you updated.

The animated heroes of "Toy Story 3" sold $109 million worth of tickets during their opening weekend at the North American box office, reviving slow summer sales, according to estimates issued on Sunday by distributor Walt Disney Co.

The film scored the best debut for a film produced by Disney's Pixar Animation unit. The old mark of $70.5 million was set by "The Incredibles" in May 2004.

'Toy Story 3' Get's 2 Bad Reviews

Meet The Only Two People Who Hate Toy Story 3 Film is subjective and that means that even though a group of people might watch the same movie, they’ll have different opinions on what they just watched. And most of the time, all of those are opinions are valid. It’s impossible for an opinion to be wrong. Most of the time. Sometimes though, something is so self-evident that it moves beyond opinion. When everyone in the world gets together and agrees that yes, this is really good, that one lone voice standing in the corner and shouting the opposite isn’t just a different opinion, it’s a wrong opinion.

Until a few hours ago, Toy Story 3 had a 100% fresh rating on the review compiler Rotten Tomatoes. It’s a feat almost never accomplished by modern movies. The few other films to carry the 100% fresh rating all pre-date the modern era or they were reviewed by a small handful of critics, usually fewer than forty or fifty. Yet with more than 130 reviews in, Toy Story 3 had a 100% fresh rating. Enter two assholes.

First Look: Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary

Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary
Well, these may not be official official photos, but these are actual stills from the movie, not just some shots of Depp taken by paparazzi while on set down in Puerto Rico. These two photos from Bruce Robinson's The Rum Diary were found on and are pretty cool to see.  So although it's great to see Depp in a role that doesn't involve heavy make-up, I have no clue when this is coming to theaters. Anyway, check out these two photos below!

Trailer for 'Conviction'

'Resident Evil: Afterlife' SecondTrailer

Man, IGN is on a Resident Evil: Afterlife roll these days. Shortly after debuting the new Resident Evil: Afterlife poster (guns a blazing) they snagged a brand new theatrical trailer. Hit the jump to check it out.

Another Despicable Me trailer

I’ve lost track of how many trailers have been released for this movie.Universal Pictures have released a new trailer for DESPICABLE ME.

You can see from the marketing the little yellow guys are probably one if not most entertaining part of the movie, there in virtually everything that comes out for this movie(printed and on screen). Today in America Toy Story 3 came out in the cinemas and stateside this movie will be out a few weeks later on July 9th, so with the distraction of Toy Story 3 Universal want to keep the moviegoers to remember about there animation.

Rise of the Apes Casting

This cast is shaping quite nicely. We already know that James Franco will star in Fox's Planet of the Apes: Rise of the Apes prequel that Rupert Wyatt is directing this summer up in Vancouver. But besides Franco, no other cast members have been announced yet, although we do know they'll be using Weta to create CGI apes instead of using men in suits. Bloody-Disgusting, of all places, is reporting that offers have been made (read: they're not signed yet) to actors Don Cheadle (last seen in Iron Man 2) and Freida Pinto (last seen in Slumdog Millionaire) for roles in the movie. But as of now, it's unconfirmed if these two will be joining.

DiCaprio Signs On J. Edgar Hoover Biopic

Back in late March, Leonardo DiCaprio was in early negotiations to star in Clint Eastwood’s biopic about the controversial former heard of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover.  It looks like those negotiations have wrapped up as Deadline reports that DiCaprio is now officially on board.  The film has been on the fast track ever since producer Brian Grazer brought Dustin Lance Black’s script to Clint Eastwood in mid-February.  And only Deadline could say that it’s great DiCaprio “is getting out of his Marty Scorsese rut,” as if working with the legendary director is such an awful fate that’s really brought down the actor’s career.

Hit the jump to learn more about Hoover.

Lee Unkrich talks Toy Story 4

Aside from the brief blip of Toy Story 2 in 1999, it seemed that Pixar was a company averse to creating sequels; now, though, they’re positively swamped by them. Toy Story 3. Cars 2. A second installment of Monsters Inc. And now, while Toy Story 3 had been commonly regarded as the end of that franchise, director Lee Unkrich is reopening the door. “We know that people love the characters, love Woody and Buzz, and would hate to say good-bye to them completely,” Unkrich told MSN. “I don’t know that there would ever be a ‘[Toy Story] 4.’ We don’t have any plans for one — but we are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive. We have announced we’re going to do a short film in front of Cars 2 that uses the Toy Story characters. We’re going to keep them alive; they’re not going away forever.”

What I’m saying is… maybe they should?

New Trailer for [REC] 2 just posted this new movie trailer for the upcoming Spanish horror film “[Rec] 2″.
Synopsis: The highly anticipated sequel to one of the scariest films of all time, [REC] 2 picks up 15 minutes from where we left off, taking us back into the quarantined apartment building where a terrifying virus has run rampant, turning the occupants into mindlessly violent, raging beasts. A heavily armed SWAT team and a mysterious government official are sent in to assess and attempt to neutralize the situation. What they find inside lies beyond the scope of medical science—a demonic nightmare of biblical proportions more terrifying than they could have possibly imagined. Above all it must be contained, before it escapes to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting world outside.

"Toy Story 3" set to smash Pixar opening record

"Toy Story 3" could give the summer box office a second big booster shot in as many weeks if industry expectations become marketplace reality.

Disney's 3D threequel should earn as much as $100 million during its first weekend, a record for a Pixar-produced movie. "The Incredibles" holds the title of the best Pixar opener, debuting with $70.5 million in May 2004 en route to a $261.4 million total in North America.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Starts Filming

Jerry Bruckheimer has announced via his Twitter account that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has started filming in Hawaii! The producer posted three photos from the set, including the front and back of the chairs the crew and cast members will sit in (that feature the film's new logo, which hints at the fountain of youth storyline) as well as director Rob Marshall arriving to the set with a jet ski.

Awesome UK Trailer for Scott Pilgrim

Thanks to our friends from the UK at the great HeyUGuys blog, we have a brand new UK trailer for Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to feature today. It has quite a bit of new footage, mostly at the beginning, and a bit near the end, including: some full scenes with Scott's naggy (ex-)girlfriend Knives Chau (played by Ellen Wong) plus some hilarious lines from evil-ex #3 - Todd Ingram (played by Brandon Routh). I think I'm most looking forward to seeing Mary Elizabeth Winstead melt the hearts of millions of guys (including me) than anything else, except maybe the fight scenes?. But I've said enough - fire it up!

Fantastic Cast for Cloud Atlas

Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, and Natalie Portman have been offered roles in Tom Tykwer’s adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel Cloud Atlas.  The book spans thousands of years, several genres, and has six leading characters.  In their article, The Playlist notes that the material appears to be un-filmable.  But that hasn’t stopped Tykwer before.  He managed to tackle Perfume: The Story of a Murderer when author Patrick Süskind thought that only Stanley Kubrick or Milos Forman would have the skill to do it.  Production Weekly notes that production is gearing up for a spring 2011 start, so the cast has plenty of lead time to put this in their schedule should they decide to sign on.

First Looks: Robot's from Transformers 3 UPDATED

Well, I've managed to confirm though highly knowledgeable sources that the pic below is not from TRANSFORMERS 3.
This said, I've been unable to confirm that it is from REAL STEEL - so who knows what the hell we're looking at. If I figure it out, I'll let you know. got their hands on a new behind the scenes still from the set of Transformers 3 by director Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, The Rock) and starring Shia LaBeouf (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Eagle Eye, Disturbia), Megan Fox (Red Sonja, Jonah Hex, The Crossing), John Malkovich (Red, Burn After Reading), Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy, Valentine’s Day) and Tyrese Gibson (Death Race, 2 Fast 2 Furious).

Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader Trailer

Though Disney decided not to move forward with The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, Fox picked up the ball and slated the third entry The Voyage of the Dawn Treader for a 3D release on December 10, 2010.
Based on the C.S. Lewis novel, Voyage follows the continuing adventures of Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with obnoxious cousin Eustace, as they sail the Narnian seas.  Check out the trailer after the jump.

Official Teaser Trailer for Sony's CG The Smurfs

Sony has debuted the official teaser trailer for their new CGI The Smurfs movie featuring the voices of a whole hell of a lot of people. Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Johan in the movie, introduces this teaser, and boy does it set quite a precedent. I now know we're going to be seeing increasingly more and more of this "Smurf'd" and "Smurf This" and "Smurf That" stuff for the next… 14 months until this hits theaters. Yes, The Smurfs doesn't even arrive in theaters until August 2011. It's a long wait, but will it be worth it? It's up to you to decide. Enjoy!

'Resident Evil: Afterlife' Poster

I missed this one 2 days ago... So there's title to say. IGN scored a first look at the official Resident Evil: Afterlife poster. Hit the jump to check it out.

New Tron: Evolution Trailer

if ever there was a movie ripe for spinning off into the gaming realm it's Tron. Following on from the arcade game and first-person shooter Tron 2.0, among others, Tron: Evolution is a third-person action-adventure that pitches players into the digital world of Tron where they're faced with enough cyber-skullduggery to give Steve Jobs an aneurysm.

Does it count as news if everyone kind of already knows it?  Deadline reports [via using their common sense] that Sony Pictures is taking pitches for The Karate Kid 2 after The Karate Kid remake smashed box office expectations and made back its entire budget in one weekend.  While I would much rather see Jackie Chan Hates Karate Kids, it looks like we’ll have to settle for another round of Jaden Smith doing roundhouse kicks.
