Men In Black 3 Details…

Here’s a sequel a don’t mind watching. The MIB movies have always been real popcorn fun. I really enjoy them. So I was surprised and at ease when they announced that Will Smith would be coming back for the third one. His character and persona is essential to the franchise’s mood and vibe. Plus, having a plot involving time travel and getting Tommy Lee Jones back are both great elements. Oh, and don’t forget bringing Josh Brolin to play a young Kay.

Avatar is back baby!

Some of you may have thought (or hoped that) you would never heard about James Cameron's Avatar ever again, but you were wrong. 20th Century Fox has officially announced that Avatar will be returning to theaters worldwide starting on August 27th next month with an extra 8 minutes of "never before seen" footage added. "Since - and largely as of result of - Avatar's release last December, the number of available digital 3D screens has exploded, and moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, as well as fans that want to return to Pandora again, will now have that opportunity," the studio said. Avatar is back baby!

International Trailer for The Green Hornet

ScreenGeek and Empire have both debuted this newer international trailer for Sony's The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou as Britt Reid and Kato (respectively). There isn't much new footage in this trailer, but there's something about and the way it's cut together that makes me enjoy this one a bit more than the original US trailer. That said, if you hated that trailer, you will hate this one as well. Although I do still think the fight scenes look pretty damn cool. Enjoy!

Badass Photo of Jason Momoa as Conan

Holy crap! Each new photo we see of Jason Momoa starring in the Marcus Nispel directed Conan movie looks more epic than the last! The first one was pretty tame, a second one got crazier, and now we've got this mega-epic power-photo. It comes from Uruloki (via SlashFilm) and is about as heavily Photoshopped as every page of Cosmo, but damn if it doesn't look cool. I'm wondering if the recent appearance of all these photos means that Lionsgate may be starting up their marketing for this and maybe we'll see a trailer (and a release date) soon. Either way, we'll let you know, but for now check this out below!

Eclipse Sparkles At The US Box Office

It looks like Summit’s hopes of breaking additional records with the third chapter in their Twilight Saga are not to be. Eclipse  will just have to settle for the records they broke on Wednesday and, of course, with its bucket loads of cash. The film fell off by 16% on Saturday, effectively ending its quest to topple Spider-Man 2  as the all-time Fourth of July champ. At this point estimates give Eclipse  a gross of $162 million over its first five days and $69 million for the traditional Friday-Sunday weekend frame. Monday should bring Eclipse’s six-day total to $176 million – $4 million short of that record.

G. Verbinski Wants a "Hard R" for BioShock

I didn't catch this when it first hit, but I thought it was good news anyway. IGN talked with filmmaker Gore Verbinski last week and got a quick update on the status of the BioShock movie, but more importantly he spoke about how it "has to be R, a hard R." A video game movie that's hard R? I don't think Universal will ever make this movie (they already canceled Verbinski's original version due to budget constraints) especially after the mediocre performance of the video game movie Prince of Persia.

Happy Independence Day for our American Friends! Many of the readers here hail from the mighty United States of America, so I wanted to tip my hat to your patriotism, pride and religious levels of BBQ and Fireworks!

While there is a lot of socializing going on around the charred meats, there may not be much movie watching.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse leading Friday b.o.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" continued its boxoffice dominance on Friday as it drained moviegoers' wallets of an estimated $28.6 million.

Summit's supernatural romance, playing in 4,468 theaters in North America, ticked up slightly on its third day of release from the $24.2 million it collected on Thursday as its domestic cume rose to $121.3 million.

Hogwarts is burning!!!

Remember how the Harry Potter franchise started off all bright and cuddly, with fresh-faced young wizards roaming the wacky and welcoming halls of Hogwarts, making new friends and getting into adventures that were a little dangerous but mostly just fun? Yeah, those days are good and over. Nearly everyone knows that the story takes a turn for the super-dark in the finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but you still may want to prepare the young ones before looking at the new teaser poster released by Warner Bros. Yup, there's Hogwarts, the one place Harry ever felt like he was at home… and it's on fire. Happy Fourth of July to you too!
