New Footage from LAND OF THE LOST and Pixar’s UP

With the Superbowl always getting massive ratings and people tuning in to see what commercials get aired, the movie studio are going full force this year and promoting a lot of their upcoming films during the game. And in an effort to get extra exposure for their ridiculously expensive TV spots, they’ve released a lot of clips a day. We've included 2 bellow and as you might expect, Pixar's "Up" looks the best. It’s almost not fair to put anything against a Pixar movie.

LAND OF THE LOST

Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, sucked into one and spat back through time. Way back. Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world - a place of spectacular sights and super-scaled comedy known as the Land of the Lost.

Sucked alongside him for the adventure are crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist (Danny McBride) named Will. Chased by T-Rex and stalked by painfully slow reptiles known as Sleestaks, Marshall, Will and Holly must rely on their only ally - a primate called Chaka (Jorma Taccone) to navigate out of the hybrid dimension. Escape from this routine expedition gone awry and theyre heroes. Get stuck, and they'll be permanent refugees in the Land of the Lost. In theaters June 5, 2009.

UP

From Disney•Pixar comes UP, a comedy adventure about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 9-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. From the Academy Award-nominated director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.”), Disney•Pixar’s UP invites you on a hilarious journey into a lost world, with the least likely duo on Earth. UP will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D in select theaters.

Will Smith's Hancock Doing Late Reshoots UPDATED

Apparently Hancock was doing very late reshoots in New York City yesterday, most likely as a result of the ratings troubles they've encountered that were detailed in this chat with director Peter Berg. Good news? Bad news? Neither really, but definitely interesting and worth noting. I think my interest in Hancock is definitely starting to increase the more I hear about it.

The photo below, taken yesterday, shows Will Smith in his leather superhero outfit that appears at the end of the most recent trailer. The report sent to Peter says that Times Square was packed with extras wearing 1980's-style brightly colored clothes. They shot for 12 hours total in order to get the updated footage that they needed. Principal photography actually finished last November and Peter Berg has been working on editing and the visual effects since then.

Hancock Reshoots

In a article by FirstShowing published last week, Peter Berg had mentioned that the film "remained surprisingly sexual, violent and true in spirit to an original script," which had caused it to receive an R-rating twice from the MPAA. My guess is they hit a wall with the ratings board and had to go back and do reshoots in order to fix the issues. They can only edit, trim, and resubmit so many times before they realize the footage they have is R-rated no matter what.

If anything, this could be looked upon as a good thing. Instead of using the Fox method of crafty editing and audio dubbing, they just opted to reshoot it all from scratch. But then again, I could be missing the entire boat with my speculation and it could be a very bad thing. To be honest, I'm going to hold out and still hope for the best with Hancock. Although I hated it initially, I've flip-flopped entirely and now I'm hoping its great - especially with the more darker, violent side that Berg mentioned included.

UPDATES:

Somebody on YouTube uploaded a video with part of the shooting on New York and our friend Varekai from IMDB sent us the link:

First Look: Matt Damon in Green Zone

TheBadandUgly.com has your first look at Matt Damon on the set of the new untitled Paul Greengrass "Green Zone" thriller.

In the film, inspired by Rajiv Chandrasekaran's nonfiction book "Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone," Damon plays an officer who teams with a senior CIA officer to search for evidence of weapons of mass destruction. A "Green Zone" is a walled and fortified area where U.S. troops stay during the Iraq occupation. There, critics say, flawed decisions are made because leaders are separated from the realities of life in war-torn Iraq.

The Mist clip

The Mist is going to be coming to DVD March 25th 2008 and we have an exclusive clip called 'Norton Holds Court'. This is easily one of my favorite horror films in quite some time. Scary, thrilling and truly shocking.

An ending to beat all endings! With a genre full of cliche moments, and even more cliche tag lines like 'most shocking ending ever' I am here to say this film does live up to that buzz. a MUST buy movie for fans of horror thrillers.

The story starts following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the 'The Arrowhead Project' conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group's overall chances for survival.

Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see! Watch the clip below.
