New Batch of Stylish G.I. Joe Posters

We've got a brand new batch of posters to feature today, straight from JoBlo. I know, I know, we've already seen plenty of posters for G.I. Joe before, but I assure you, these are worth checking out. They're a definite improvement over the older black and white design they've used and are a tweaked version of the Matrix Reloaded-style cut off head posters. And given I'm easily excitable, I'll admit that I think these look pretty badass. Thoughts?

Below you'll see Channing Tatum as Duke, Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Sienna Miller as Baroness, and Ray Park as Snake Eyes. There is also another poster featuring Marlon Wayans as Ripcord that can be seen on JoBlo. With the trailer out on Sunday and these new posters out today, is G.I. Joe gaining any buzz?

4 New Posters for G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra

It's only the middle of December, and already I feel like Summer 2009 is just around the corner. G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra is back with a few new character posters. They're not entirely new, as they first appeared over the summer at a licensing fair, but have been scanned online for the first time thanks to Film.ru. There's four in all -- Duke, Snake Eyes, Baroness, and Ripcord, and all four have been added to the GI Joe gallery below. Unfortunately, they haven't appeared in a big, hi-res version yet.

Paramount might want to reconsider the design since they look just like the Star Trek character posters. You can't have people wandering into Trek, and wondering where the heck Snake Eyes is. G.I. Joe is the All American Hero! Make these screamingly obvious -- red, white, and blue all the way! At least throw in the camoflauge I remember (and probably wrongly) from the packaging. None of this classiness and silver font -- that has to be left for Mission: Impossible installments.

G.I. Joe Poster Plus Subtitle - Rise of Cobra

The first full poster for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie has been discovered and alongside of it the new subtitle for the film. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is now the official title. The guys over at Film1.nl happened to come across this poster at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam and took a photo for the world to see. I would say it's not all that amazing, plus it's only Duke, play by Channing Tatum, and I'd rather see some of the other G.I. Joe team members instead, like Dennis Quaid as General Hawk or Sienna Miller as The Baroness. However, if this strikes up as heated of a discussion as the new name of Transformers 2, then go for it. You can check out the poster below and discuss the new name in the comments.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Cobra Command is the fictional nemesis of the G.I. Joe team. The organization is lead by Cobra Commander, a hooded villain regarded as the most dangerous man on Earth, because he can draw followers to him. Additionally part of the Cobra team are Destro, The Baroness, and Storm Shadow. The plot of the film, while unknown for the most part, deals with the G.I. Joe team taking on "an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer." Hence the new title Rise of Cobra.

G.I. Joe is directed by Stephen Sommers (Deep Rising, The Mummy, Van Helsing) and written by both Stuart Beattie and Skip Woods. The movie arrives in theaters on August 7th, 2009.
