Nicole Kidman's on the hunt for a hit (she hasn't had one in a few years), might "Nine" be it?
Maybe. Possibly. It's likely.
It's a musical- and we know Nickers can sing and dance (via her work in "Moulin Rouge"), but more so, it's a musical from the director of "Chicago", Rob Marshall. He seems to know what it takes - coming from a musical theater background - to do a good-time movie musical. I'm sure it'll be done right. I'm sure it'll make a few more bucks than "The Invasion" did.
If Kidman agrees to star in the film - an adaptation of Federico Fellini's autobiographical opus "8 1/2," which revolves around a film director (Javier Bardem) juggling the demands of several women in his life - she'll be joining Dame Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz (ha! they'll have some stories to tell among them!), Marion Cotillard and Sophia Loren, so she'll be in good company.
The flick, which the late Anthony Minghella was slated to direct at one stage, is on for a September start.
