Will.i.am's Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Music Video!

ComingSoon.net had an exclusive first look at Will.i.am's new music video for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and we pass it on. Opening in conventional theaters and IMAX on November 7. The DreamWorks Animation sequel features the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer, Andy Richter, Bernie Mac, Sherri Shepherd, Alec Baldwin and Will.i.am.

All the loveable characters are back - Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins. Left marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane - sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just enough to make it to the wildest place of all - the vast plains of Africa itself - where our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. While discovering their roots, they quickly realize the difference between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa. Despite long-lost relatives, romantic rivals and scheming hunters, Africa seems like a "crack-a-lackin" great place... but is it better than their Central Park home?

International Tropic Thunder trailer

An international trailer for Ben Stiller's Tropic Thunder has come online at the official UK site!

Tropic Thunder is directed by Ben Stiller (Zoolander) and written by Etan Cohen ("King of the Hill", Idiocracy) and well-known actor Justin Theroux (who also stars in the film). The movie stars Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Brandon T. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, and Steve Coogan. Tropic Thunder arrives in theaters everywhere on August 15th this summer.

There's not much else to say about this one -- watch it for yourself and tell me it doesn't look out of control. Stiller worries me sometimes because he could be a little too "stupid," but with Downey Jr., Steve Coogan, Nick Nolte, Bill Hader, Justin Theroux, Jay Baruchel and Jack Black in there, I think we'll be okay.

Universal drops the rain

Raindrops keep falling on my head. And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed, nothin' seems to fit ...

Okay, this new project isn't quite the same as the Oscar-winning Hal David and Burt Bacharach song, but it's close enough, and probably inspired it -- Variety reports that for mid-six against high-six figures, Universal Pictures has picked up a new comedy spec called Raindrops All Around Me.

Written by Reed Agnew (Crank Yankers) and Eli Jorne (Fletch Won), the script focuses on "a socially inept high school teacher who learns to 'dumb it down' in order to fit in with the people around him." I'm assuming that this means outside of school, but I imagine that it could work either way -- dumbing it down for peers, or for the students he teaches.

There's currently no word on who will direct the film, but Ben Stiller will be one of the feature's producers through the Red Hour banner, so hopefully that means good things for the flick.

IESB.net has revealed the three new posters and banner for the Ben Stiller-directed Tropic Thunder, opening in theaters on August 15. The DreamWorks comedy stars Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Brandon Jackson, Steve Coogan, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Jay Baruchel, Matt Levin, Andrea De Oliveira, Reggie Lee, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise.
