Rumor: Matt Damon in David Fincher's Torso Adaptation?

Today filmschoolrejects.com wrote:

A source involved in the production has confirmed that
Matt Damon will be playing Eliot Ness - the iconic head of The Untouchables and Cleveland Chief of Police during the brutal Torso Murders, that Ehren Kruger will be penning the script, and that Paramount is starting production on it in February or March of next year.

Starting from the top, Torso is a graphic novel first published in 2001 by Image Comics that tells the story of the "torso" murders, in which at least 13 people were killed between 1934 and 1938. Fresh off of the Al Capone case in Chicago, Eliot Ness moves to Cleveland to help clean up the city. But when dismembered body parts start washing up near Lake Erie Sound, Ness starts on another lengthy investigation.
