In addition to yesterday's poster for X-Files: I Want to Believe, another slick new poster has debuted - this time for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Thankfully I'm actually able to talk about this movie since it is getting a theatrical release this August. While I am mildly excited to see Star Wars return again to the big screen, I'm not even remotely as close to excited as I am for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. However, let's get back on topic. This poster looks both well-designed and epic enough to capture my attention and slap fans in the face as a reminder that this animated movie is coming to theaters in a few months. Enough pointless banter, let's check it out!
I'm personally excited to kick back and enjoy a new Star Wars animated flick in theaters with a big bucket o' popcorn, but I'm not sure everyone else feels the same way. The full trailer is due out tomorrow, so check back in for that, but I'm curious to know whether everyone else is looking forward to Star Wars: The Clone Wars too? Will this be the year George Lucas redeems himself with both Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and The Clone Wars? Or are we destined for another pile of pointless Star Wars mush?
On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains — led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous — are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is being directed by Dave Filoni, of "Avatar: The Last Airbender", with a story by George Lucas himself. The two hour animated movie will kick off a new TV series after debuting in theaters. Star Wars: The Clone Wars will play in movie theaters this summer starting on August 15th. If you're a true Star Wars geek I know I'll see you there!
USA Today has also published the first photo of the villain named Asajj Ventress. She is a double lightsaber-weilding pale, bald babe who first appeared in previous 2D cartoons but will hit the screen this fall alongside of Anakin and Obi-Wan. You can check out that new photo below.
