Justice League has been 'tabled', says Silver

A bunch of fellow webmasters had to chance to interview uber-producer Joel Silver at the Long Beach Speedway for the junket of "Speed Racer" this week. Naturally, as we do, the site captains hit Silver with questions about his upcoming projects ("fuck ya current movie!, tell us what's next!").

Though Silver remained tight-lipped on his long-gestating "Wonder Woman" movie (he did tell IESB however that Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland, the guys behind the Wonder Woman Spec script that Silver snapped up a year or so ago, are working on a script for it - albeit not one set in WWII, like their spec was - and hinted that the Wachowski's might somehow be involved in the film; apparently Larry Wachowski has a terrific idea for the opening, one which Silver wouldn't reveal), he did let slip some interesting news about the terminally-troubled "Justice League" movie.

According to Silver - who isn't involved in the film, but does work for the same crowd, Warner Bros, so he probably would be privy to such info - the film has been put on ice.

Says CHUD, ''I briefly cornered producer Joel Silver to ask him how the Justice League movie would affect Wonder Woman. The answer: it won't. According to Silver, who would be in the know, Justice League has been 'tabled.''

ow, I believe that doesn't mean the cast and crew of the film have been seated at a restaurant, nor does it mean they've been coded into tables for a web page, it actually means the film is 'off' for the time being. With all the troubles they've had trying to get thing up - and now, with director George Miller having to fight to get Australian tax credits to film it in Sydney - I'm not surprised it's gone belly-up. It's need to be put bake in the oven to cook for a while longer.

When the film does get up, Silver said, it'll likely be without any of the currently attached cast members (Common as Green Lantern, Adam Brody as The Flash, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul). I'm all for that... this thing is need of some friggin' 'stars' for crying out loud... even just one...
