New Image and Poster of 'The Smurfs' Invasion of New York City

Though we've already seen a teaser trailer giving us our first look at the CG animated versions of the classic blue cartoons in Sony Pictures Animation's adaptation of The Smurfs in 3D, now two more images give us a glimpse of the characters as they invade NYC. While the first image only featured one recognizable Smurf (Papa Smurf voiced by Jonathan Winters), this new one sees the elder Smurf joined by Smurfette (Katy Perry), Grouchy Smurf (George Lopez), Gutsy Smurf (Alan Cumming), Brainy Smurf (Fred Armisen) and Clumsy Smurf (Anton Yelchin). Official Teaser Trailer for Sony's CG The Smurfs

Sony has debuted the official teaser trailer for their new CGI The Smurfs movie featuring the voices of a whole hell of a lot of people. Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Johan in the movie, introduces this teaser, and boy does it set quite a precedent. I now know we're going to be seeing increasingly more and more of this "Smurf'd" and "Smurf This" and "Smurf That" stuff for the next… 14 months until this hits theaters. Yes, The Smurfs doesn't even arrive in theaters until August 2011. It's a long wait, but will it be worth it? It's up to you to decide. Enjoy!
